The idea is that this will reduce transportation costs in bringing patients to and from health care facilities for regular checkups, streamline data collection, and allow for collaborative care between various healthcare professionals. The technology allows wound size and topography to be measured easily and in a standardized way. The system can also provide alerts to helps doctors care for the most urgent or vulnerable patients. The technology is not just conceived for home use, but is also designed to be used in in-patient units, surgery departments, and for research.
