Due to the need for more information about Department of Defense sponsored wound healing research, the Wound Healing Foundation initiated the writing of this article. It briefly describes the Vision, Mission and Goals of the Department of Defense Strategic Medical Research Plan. It also describes the current objectives of Department of Defense research funding and where to access this information in detail.
